St George's Day Parade 2014
27th April 2014
The Scouts and Guides of Faversham joined together to take part in their annual parade celebrating St George's Day.
Members of both movements, with ages spanning 5 to 75, paraded through Faversham town centre on Sunday afternoon from the Queen's Hall car park to the Parish Church. The Mayor of Faversham took the salute outside the Alexander Centre before joining them for the service at the Parish Church.
This year was the scout section's turn to organise the service and they presented the story of St. George, complete with dragon. Once again the vicar provided a memorable sermon with the aid of balloons.
The parade was finally dismissed from the Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School car park after a great and sunny afternoon. Thank you to all for the magnificient turn out.
