Activities 2012
Easter Camp 2012
30 Scouts plus Leaders from all 3 Troops, spent an enjoyable weekend at Shepherd Park during which they carried out a range of activities that included archery, making 3-legged stools, air rifle shooting, a hike, constructing bug hutches and decorating them with pyrography, pioneering and soap carving. Cooking was carried out over wood fires. We experienced the full range of weather from bright sun on Friday to rain on the Sunday.
Have a Go Day
A cold and blustery day was the setting for Scouts to have as many goes as they wanted at Archery and Air Rifle Shooting under the supervision of the Faversham Scouts Activity Team. The low numbers allowed the Scouts to alternate between the activities and to become more proficient.
Cooking Competition 2012
4 Teams of Scouts were prepared to put their cooking skills under the eagle eyes of the judges, to cook a meal of their choosing from the ingredients provided, the only common item being the meat - chicken. The choice of ingredients to accompany the chicken included potatoes, rice, oats, flour, carrots, herbs and spices. A choice of puddings could also be cooked as apples, plums, oats and custard were available. After sorting out the wood for their fires, the scouts collected their chosen ingredients and commenced cooking. After about 1½ hours the completed meals were presented to the judges and the task of finding a winner commenced while the scouts got stuck into the washing up. The Gold and Silver were awarded to the Scouts from the 6th/13th Faversham Scout Troop with Bronze being awarded to the 8th Faversham Sea Scout Troop.
