Eyjafjallajokull 2014
15th November 2014

On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November, Faversham Network held its 6th annual District Challenge for Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers. It was once again a fantastic event with 45 young people escaping the lava of Eyjafjallajökull!
Stranded after the last helicopter left the eruption area the teams completed challenges in order to win materials. They used these to construct shelters to keep them safe from the volcano's debris for the night
In the morning they made their way to safety, hiking across the fields of Iceland.

It's not only the older ones who take part in the District Challenge Event; Cubs and Beavers have activities during the day. This year the Trading Post was replaced with Activity Bingo.
