Save Santa 2023

55 young people from across the Scout and Explorer sections in Faversham were challenged to Save Santa from 7th to 8th January 2023. Santa is snowed under with work and wondering whether he should give Christmas a miss this year, young people had to work to establish contact with Santa and then complete a series of his tasks to ensure Christmas happens next year!

Starting in the South Field at Shepherd Park, young people took part in Indoor Caving to find Rudolph's eye, morse code to decode Santa's messages, fire lighting (the local Christmas tree recycling centre had been overwhelmed with trees), and creating a satellite dish flag pole. From these they collected items that they had to present at the border. In the North Field aka 'North Pole' participants had to find presents and reindeer, pull Santa's sleigh, play minesweeper and finally cheer Santa up with some campfire songs.

Young people camped overnight, with winners being announced in the morning.
